If these reports are true, Joao will be also officially become the oldest person alive. Currently, the Guinness Book of Records currently recognizes Yasutaro Koide, a 112 year old woman from Japan as the oldest person alive. Meanwhile French woman Jeanne Calment who died in 1997 at the age of 122 holds the record for the World’s longest person alive.

The social security workers in Acre have posted a photo of the OAP and a birth certificate dated March 1884.

And the old age hasn’t stopped this guy from anything! He has a 30 year old daughter Cirlene Souza which means he had her when he was 101 year old. Speaking to a paper she said:

“He has days when he is lucid but others when he doesn’t even recognise his children.

He was very small when he came to work in Acre extracting rubber.

He has been with my mum for more than 40 years and depends on others for everything.”
